Nowadays, most teen-ager’s diet is low in fibre, lack of vitamins, calcium and minerals. They usually eat foods with fats and high in cholesterol. This is because most teens become more independent and they often eat in the restaurants with friends or grabbing takes out food. That’s why as parents we need to monitor our children, encourage them to do cooking at home more often and advice them to eat only the healthy foods. Always remind them to stay away from fatty foods, limit salt and sugar intake and stop eating if they are already full.
Encourage them to exercise everyday and the best thing to do is to get involved in physical activities. There are many organized sports that advisable for teens such as playing soccer, enroll in gymnastics, hockey games, baseball, basketball for boys and girls, downhill skiing, figure skating and karate. It can make your body active, full of energy; build balance, cardio-vascular fitness and endurance. For parents we need to support the hobbies of your kids and be sure to purchase all necessary safety equipments.
